Who should replace Dennis Barry?
Around Town, posted by Hal Bailey, a resident of another community, on Apr 21, 2008 at 8:43 am

Dear neighbors,

Our Sunday e-exchanges repeatedly focused on balanced development of communities and regions including planned districts for technical, commercial and industrial campuses. With the focus on housing development by current Community Development Department, neighbors are discussing the qualifications for a new director.

**Contra Costa Times story**

Dennis Barry last week marked his 30th year of service with Contra Costa County. He started in 1978 as an entry-level planner and worked his way up to become the director of the 82-employee Community Development Department. This fall, he's ready to retire.

(end)

What job specifications would you prescribe for the new director?
