In my role with global governments I have committed by conflict of interest agreements to not become an appointed or elected official in any community. In the 26 years of residency in Contra Costa County I have learned not to have any commercial, economic or political interests in Contra Costa governments due to the extreme costs to friends including Gayle Bishop.
My goal, among many neighborhoods throughout Contra Costa County, is to develop honesty and ethical commitment to the will and interests of communities and neighborhoods as the majority of Contra Costans. Your sponsorship of Informed Resident(s) and friends in commentary on the town square forum seems to invite me to "throw my hat in the ring" which would violate explicit global conflict of interests. It is far more simple from outside of office to seek earnest commitment to interactive communication and mitigation with Contra Costa governments so very well delivered by Gayle Uilkema most recently in the new district 2.
If we simply let that be an example, then all county officials, including elected state representatives and city council members, can quite simply execute outreach to neighborhood, business district and community groups, maybe even individuals, to fully engage Contra Costans in government.
There is no better goal than finding people that will commit to earnest service to the will and interests of Contra Costans. We have not had that as CCC-BOS except for Gayle Bishop and, most recently, Gayle Uilkema, as members of the CCC-BOS. I am encouraged by District 2 candidate profiles on this website and hope Mary Piepho will be engaged in service to her district residents in Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley.
We need a new majority for CCC-BOS quite qualified for the job of managing a +$2 billion enterprise. Certainly I have the skills but I also have the conflict of agreements that make that pursuit impossible.
Let us support those with capabilities and qualifications that choose to run for office and challenge all those unqualified to be our representatives.
