Dear Stan,

Thank you for the views on history.

In 1963 to 1965, I did line verification for the Southern Pacific branch and subsidiary lines. SPRR branch line, now the Iron Horse Trail, was part of that study including all the spurs, cross-overs, and leases along the right-of-way. Some years back, I was able to get a copy of the original right-of-way agreement from the archives of the Union Pacific, Omaha NE, as the owners of the Southern Pacific. It had all the origins of the Southern Pacific Radio Information Network (SPRINT), the Southern Pacific Pipeline Company (now Kinder Morgan) and much of the accesses granted that formed communities in the corridor.

Thanks for the reminder of such history,

Hal

Hal,

Thanks for your comments, which I find very interesting. Would you still have the copy of the original right-of-way agreement? If so, let's meet at the museum with Beverly Lane to go over it.

Dear Stan,

The agreement, as a right of way document, is with neighborhoods' counsel, in Walnut Creek, and I have copied your request to counsel for a second copy to be provided to the museum as part of corridor history. It is a large document of thousands of pages, in three volumes, so allow time for copying and delivery as counsel's courtesy.

Best wishes,

Hal
