Excellent question and good answers. Personally, watching Faux (FOX) Snooze (News) would not be a choice. They do provide exceptional comedy for Jon Stewart and the Daily Show, so they do have some purpose.
I receive various global news feeds daily from Reuters, API, Straits Times and various subscriber information services. My focus is global economy and politics with a specific interest in technology development and its impact of world economies.
Locally, I receive subscriber news services as the in-depth study of economics, politics and culture in our various Contra Costa corridors. I enjoy the various Patch.com sites for local news summaries. [Portion removed due to disrespectful comment]

I’ve never watched Fox News. Not once. I don’t get that channel. Nor have I watched any TV news in the past 15 years for that matter.
But I find it ironic that those who claim to know the most about how bad Faux Snooze is are its harshest critics. How do they know it is so bad? Are they actually watching it? Or are they just parroting what they’ve been told? Do yourself a favor. Don’t get your news from TV.
I like the Wall Street Journal and read it daily, but they are terribly biased and often wrong. But they are often right and more often than not they report stories that the rest of the media ignores.
I’ve read every edition of Time Magazine cover to cover since 1992. Sadly, it has lost its best writers. It generally portrays conservatives in a negative light and often cheerleads for Democrats and pet issues dear to most Democrats like climate change, racial issues, income inequality, etc. They also were uncharacteristically cheerleading Bush in the run up to the Iraq war, as did the NY Times. Shame on them both.
I subscribe to Wired Magazine, Mother Jones, The Atlantic, Harpers, the Economist and Vanity Fair. I also subscribe to the San Ramon Valley Times and have read it daily for nearly two decades, even though its quality has deteriorated precipitously.
I’m probably one of the few who still reads print media. I can’t stand reading on my wife’s Ipad.

By the way, how much is your subscription? My sister who lives in Sunnyvale was sent a bill for 129.00 for a one year subscription for the Mercury News. She called and asked what mine was for the Contra Costa Times, I told her 60.00 for a year. She called the Mercury News and complained, they gave her a year for 80.00. So how much is your subscription? (The subscriptions are for 7 days a week)
