Danville Express Bias Around Town, posted by Concerned in Danville, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Dec 29, 2011 at 10:08 am
I found it interesting this morning when I went to check on comments regarding Joe Keller's possible run for District 3 Supervisor opposing Mary Piepho and found no comments. It's interesting because there were comments yesterday (all positive) that are now gone. And something else - now you have to register to leave a comment on that subject. I had heard stories of how biased Danville Express is but this was my first firsthand experience. What is the Danville Express afraid of and why is it squashing comment on this subject?

As the original poster pointed out, the commentary concerning drafting Joel Keller as a competitive candidate for district 3 supervisor does not appear on the home page even though it is a major consideration by Diablo, Blackhawk and Tassajara Valley neighborhoods in addition to all neighborhoods in district 3.
Thus, the challenge of bias has more to do with how you chose your home page stories and exchanges from the town square forum. Your daily readers realize that your home page is more press releases from governments, districts, organizations and campaigns than any specific bias against what is newsworthy to your readers. The goal of your readers, as forum commentators, is for the most part to participate in the news process with noteworthy contributions. By such commentary it is hoped that EMCEB will focus on important subjects, report in-depth on details and participate in town square forum exchanges with appropriate fact-checking and journalistic contributions.
The value of any publication is in review by readers and scope of coverage in-depth are readers' repeated requests for your home page and your forum participation.

Concerned in Danville, Anyone can post a topic, even you. If you notice my posted topic ( the one you are referring to) has no comments yet. I think it's because I checked the box that says you must register before you are able to comment. What this does is illuminate the riff raff of anonymous morons who totally degrade and bring the forum to childish levels rather than comment on the actual subject. A good example is what you stated about positive comments. The problem is you have apparently not complied with registering and identity. Try again after you register or comment on the other posts like this if you want to stay anonymous.
