Campaigns and Communication: what should we expect?

Dear Editor,

Readers in several forum exchanges have provided a unique subject for your town square forum and the example of the Magee and Weber Ranch development to be an indicator of how local and county governments treat the issues of burden on infrastructure versus development of further tax and fee basis.

In this exchange let us question the ability of governments and 2012 political campaigns to engage communities and voters in full consideration of planning in cities and new county, state and federal districts. What is the intent of current elected officials and 2012 candidates for planning our infrastructure and for what development purposes?

More specifically, how will current officials and candidates improve governments' engagement and communications with city or district residents? What do your readers expect in improved governments' engagement and communications with the communities such governments serve?

The feelings of locals regarding this issue are strongly desired. The infamous constant lacks of infrustructure and services compared to development in local jurisdictions have fallen criminally behind.

The citizen’s opinions whose lives these developments affect should be fundamental to the powers that approve or deny them.

How can we as voters place pressure on local and county jurisdictions to dig deeper into the affects development place on our lives?

Everyone should research politician’s history of existing office holders along with demanding a stance on the infrastructure issue from potential challengers in upcoming elections.
