Congratulations to the Alameda County Fair people for a job well done. I know a number of people stopped attending when they had city/town dedication days. That was when riots and general gang behavior exploded on "Oakland Day" a number of years ago. Water and oil do not mix.

i concur with Raj and Derek.....so sad they have to do a weapons check but it is necessary since so many have not parented their "spawn" well. Only an idiot would have to carry his manhood to a family fair......guns/knives.

This wonderful fair is the only safe fair left in our area. No one would think of going to the Contra Costa County fair and I have friends from Modesto that come to this fair. The Stanislaus County fair has gone the way of the gang mentality as has the San Juaquin County fair. Hats off to Alameda County for keeping the "Tri Valley Fair" safe and enjoyable for all of us.
