WE need a REAL District 3 Supervisor

Dear neighbors,

At present, we are faced with a choice between our current supervisor, who has repeatedly failed to represent our concerns and advisory, and Guy Houston, who has illustrated his lack of concensus, communication and consideration in blind retaliation against the City of Berkeley.

Steve Filson, a Democrat, has learned, lived and worked in all four corners of the nation, in the state of California south, north, and in the valley, and having conducted business in Asia and Europe and having been responsible for peoples lives in complex situations, Steve has been fortunate enough to gain an unparallel national and world wide perspective. Steve believes that one can more effectively represent a citizenry in a world class state like California by bringing the value of world wide experiences to the process. It is Steve's commitment to you, the residents, to fight for what is right, as WE promote honest, ethical government.

We do not need another four years of self-indulgent service to special interests and abuse of our neighborhoods. Let's DRAFT Steve Filson.

With great appreciation for the author's thoughts

Dear neighbors,

In relationships with Contra Costa County, I have come to realize that all supervisors need to be NEW supervisors. I believe each understands that challenge and their role as representatives rather than leadership.

It is hard to imagine a Republican understanding they are not in-charge, but that is a personal opinion. I fully believe each supervisor has received the message loud and clear, "Represent our interests or get out!"

I find it refreshing that neighbors throughout District 3 want a new supervisor and are willing to DRAFT to get such representation. But with more that 60,000 neighbors making this choice, I would imagine that every candidate, including our current supervisor, is a NEW supervisor.

Amazing result,

Debs

From a previous posting

YES, YOU CAN BE A CANDIDATE OR SELECT A CANDIDATE FOR SUPERVISOR!

Supervisorial Districts 2, 3 & 5 seats are up for election in the 06/03/08 Primary Election.

The regular nomination period starts 02/11/08 & ends 03/07/08. If the incumbent does not file, the nomination period gets extended 5 calendar days to "non incumbents only", which would be 03/12/08.

There is a non-refundable filing fee which will be 1% of the annual salary ($960 approx) which is due at the time the candidate takes out their nomination papers during the regular nomination period. Valid nomination signatures of no less than 20 but no more than 40 are required at the time the nomination papers are filed.

The signature-in-lieu period is optional for the candidate & simply helps pay for the filing fee. It starts 12/28/07 & ends 02/21/08. This is not to be confused with the nomination period. Valid signatures of voters that live within the district the candidate is running for are credited towards the filing fee. Each valid signature is worth 25 cents.

The "write-in candidacy period" starts 04/07/08 & ends 05/20/08. No filing fee is required but the valid nomination signatures of no less than 20 but no more than 40 are still required.
