San Jose is not a state
State, National, International, posted by [removed], a resident of another community, on Jun 22, 2011 at 6:59 am

Dear Editor,

California State University Alumni Silicon Valley - The CSU Alumni of Silicon Valley is the San Jose/Silicon Valley area chapter of the California State Alumni Association, Inc. The CSU Alumni of Silicon Valley is an alumni group for the original and oldest California State University (CSU) campus, located in San Jose, California (a.k.a. "San Jose State"). The primary purpose of the group is to restore the rights of CSU graduates in San Jose to use the CSU name to market their degrees. This requires the University's recognition and promotion of its CSU identity. We also work to promote mutual support and networking among our alumni. And we foster communication about how to continually improve the CSU campus in San Jose, its image and reputation, and the prospects of its graduates.

Chapter leaders are searching for alumni of San Jose State College, California State University San Jose, San Jose State University to promote the California State University identity for the San Jose campus. Please contact Michael Harold, michaelch7@yahoo.com to learn more about this effort or visit CSU Alumni of Silicon Valley on linkedin.com.

I got my master's degree at SJSU. The professors were largely ineffective and I found the education lacking in many ways. I set up internships on my own because the field placements at the time were lacking in meaningful opportunities. Though I wouldn't hamper the efforts of this group, I certainly wouldn't assist them.
