R-7A Parks and Recreation Survey
Around Town, posted by [removed], a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on May 19, 2011 at 12:46 pm

Dear Editor,

Some very interesting questions surfaced yesterday and today concerning the results of the R-7A (Alamo) park and recreation survey that likely would make great journalism in Express response.

Are a handful of parks few in Alamo use all that Mary Piepho wants her MAC volunteers discussing? Are 565 residents responding to the R-7A Park and Recreation survey, from a mailing to 5000 residences (>13,000 residents) just the few residents Contra Costa LAFCO reported as minority use of Alamo parks and programs? What about the >4400 Alamo residences (>11,500 residents) that didn’t see any reason to respond to a survey on unwanted parks and programs? Does a sequence of discovered county documents illustrate that the survey and continuation of the current parks and programs, and similar future parks and programs, were all aimed at providing budget offset for CCC-PW using R-7A funds. Does such documentation imply that majority participation in R-7A parks and programs was never really any county concern?
