What do you think about Osama Bin Laden’s death?
State, National, International, posted by Marie, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on May 2, 2011 at 10:19 am

Are you happy or sad about Osama Bin Laden's death? Do you think this was victory or just one of the many battles we have to fight to keep the USA safe? Do you think this serves as justice for 9/11? Do you think death is better than life in prison?

Or, do you have mixed feelings, wishing this was the end of terrorism, but know it’s not?

Why did this take 24 hours to show up under the TownSquare Forum?

Dear Editor,

Global news services were providing review of certain USAmerican attitides and beliefs this morning. "Chocolate is a vegetable" was used to illustrate how USAmericans choose convenient ignorance to maintain their beliefs. "Man never went to the moon, there was no holocaust, Obama was born in Kenya, and chocolate is a vegetable," noted one columnist.

Such commentary prefaced thoughts on the death of Osama Bin Laden and any further published proof of his death. Global journalists conclude that little is served by pictures or other proof because it is only a small fringe that will continue to believe their doubts and find cause to justify such doubts.

As your readers continue their thoughts on Osama Bin Laden's death it might do all well to consider how such thoughts present USAmerica in our global community.

About time and a good start? Israel has been castigated by the left for years for doing just this type of thing. It's nice to see that Obama can put aside ideology at least once and do the right thing.

One death for this person is not enough.

Silly Marie, Binny's not dead! I just watched a youtube of him and Cheney playing 5-card stud in an Afghan cave.

Obviously very few westerners are sorry he has been erased from the planet, but the "be careful what you wish for" mantra still holds here. Look at what happened when some little known bible thumper burned a koran. Or when a cartoonist in Europe had the nerve to make fun of islam. These loons went ape-$#*%. It's grim to state this, but I for one won't be surprised if there are serious repercussions from OBL's death. That doesn't mean I think he should still be taking up oxygen. I don't. Just understand there may be consequences.
