The issue has been mischaracterized and should be examined as a human rights issue. Mexico is a very poor country and the people there as anywhere else want to live better. There is a big opportunity for unscrupulous people to exploit these people, and that is just what is happening. The people exploiting them are the runners of these poor people at exorbitant cost and once here gangs of thugs collect money from them, threaten them and extort favors prostituting young girls and all sorts of unthinkable things.
They are good people in the large part but there are the gangs and criminals too. The drug cartel is responsible for criminal activity beyond belief and we here in Danville are not exempt from their activity either. Our children are at risk every day.
We need to support the Arizona Governor in appropriate measures to secure our borders, stop hiring of illegal’s and the elimination of gangs. Next we need to insure wages paid for those immigrants that are here legally are at least minimum wage thereby making them compete with, and not lower than, the lowest wage earners in our society.
