Greetings and salutations from your new editor! Editor's Blog, posted by Jessica Lipsky, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Dec 6, 2010 at 11:36 am Jessica Lipsky is a member (registered user) of Danville Express
Those of you with an eye for detail may have noticed a new name popping up on your screen and on the homepage of Embarcadero Media, the parent company for Danville Express. Allow me to introduce myself as the new editor. My name is Jessica Lipsky and I have spent the past five years freelancing for various Bay Area publications, including the Contra Costa Times, the Oakland Tribune and KQED radio. I'm passionate about community radio and currently produce and host a late-night program at KUSF 90.3 f.m.
Emily West, the former editor of the Danville Express and San Ramon Express, has moved on to a new career in a different field and left some mighty big shoes to fill. As a Tri-Valley native and Cal High grad, I am really excited to get re-acquainted with Danville and continue to publish the high-quality stories Danville Express is known for.
If you have any questions, concerns or story ideas, please send them my way at editor@danvilleexpress.com.

Dear Jessica,
You have an exceptional model and benchmark in Dolores Fox Ciardelli because you will be judged by her journalism. What you inherit is the vacuum between the exceptional journalism of pre-November 2007 and the sad provision of news releases and a savage forum conducted by a handful of fridge commentators under several pseudonyms.
I look upon your entry as the person in-charge of the deck chairs on the Titanic. But with that said, you have no direction but up in your editorial viewpoint and specific journalism.
At this point you have less than 30 days to introduce your journalism or be disregarded by >27,000 Iron Horse corridor neighborhood participants as Dolores' reader.

Hiya Jessica:
Welcome. Hal probably won't find this comment fridge-worthy, but I wonder if you have a way to change the Verification Code dingus so that it allows more time to compose an entry?
If anybody attempts a longer, possibly even thoughtful response, it invariably gets kicked back as a typo, requiring re-entry of another Code. The second one always goes through, as do brief ripostes, so I am guessing it's a timing issue. Thanks for checking.
