We should be proud of California election results State, National, International, posted by Chet, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Nov 7, 2010 at 6:23 pm
We in California are very proud of the 2010 election results in California. We rejected the fear and miss-information being promoted by GOP, Cons, Tea Party, Rush, Beck and Fox. We understand it was Bush/GOP policies that gave us the great Bush Recession and it was Obama and the Democrats leadership that got us out of the recession and back to a growing economy. We know we would be doing better except for the GOPers that only know to vote NO and to vote to hurt us all. We correctly rejected the Tea Party and Con fear in Calif and elected leaders committed to getting our economy and jobs growing again. We did not let Whitman buy Sacramento. We again have leaders in Sacramento that know how to get the job done and will be getting hard a work on day one. We again have reps in Washington D.C. that will work with Pres Obama and get our country back to work.

[portion removed] We are in this mess because of the Community Reinvestment Act during the Carter era and then continued during the Clinton era, (along with NAFTA), in which the Dems insisted "everyone" should be a home owner, whether or not they could afford one! Banks were "forced" to give mortgages to people who could not make the payments, thus the mess we're in now! Bush actually tried to put up roadblocks but because the Dems held the majority in congress he was helpless. The Dems and environmentalists in California and the nation have been our worst enemies! I am very disappointed and ashamed of the voters in this state who re-elected Barbara Boxer and elected Jerry Brown. Neither are good for the state. Jerry will surely raise taxes and Barbara will continue with her "no nothing" policies! We are thinking of leaving the state for a tax free, conservative one! Let the liberals ly in their slime!

How do you feel about Obama traveling to India with an entourage of 3,000, spending $200M tax payer money "per day"? He is a spoiled brat! He shows no empathy for the American people, especially those who are losing their jobs and homes! He and Michelle take expensive trips, constantly, while the rest of us toil away to pay for them! He is disgusting and an embarrassment to this country and should be IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY! He isn't a US citizen and should be ousted! Show us the birth certificate!!!! Why is he refusing to produce it? Could it be because it would prove he isn't a citizen?????!!!!!

Every single labor union not only backed Brown, but poured money into his coffers. CW has it right - but facts don't work for the left. The unions and Democrats have had a stranglehold on the state for decades, but in typical far left fashion, it is simple to continue the rhetoric.

1 -- to set your mind and pulse at-ease, please know that the $200 million/day number has been Thoroughly debunked. It came from some discredited blogger in India, and was even disavowed by Bill O'Reilly, albeit with a smirk that revealed that he was thrilled and amused that the bogus claim got traction among The Credulous. He knows he's nine parts entertainer to every one part newsman. You should know that, too.
2 -- if we could "force" the banks to do ANYthing, don't you think Obama would've "forced" them to loan more money NOW, when it would create jobs? I believe the banks created this mess -- from which there was little choice but to bail them out (unless a global Depression is your cuppatea), because they were under-regulated, not the opposite. Banks are not your friend, my friend. And they have covered their bets so well (cf. HARP and HAMP, which are empty vessels) that they are likely to emerge relatively unscathed and still under-regulated -- and now, they can make unlimited, anonymous campaign contributions. God help us.
3 -- any discussion about the growth of government in the past decade that doesn't begin with the Trillion Dollar unfunded war in Iraq is a travesty. The US spends more on "defense" than the next 26 industrialized countries, COMBINED. And 24 of those are our "allies."
4 -- if tax cuts are part of your plan to address the deficit, then you must understand that your chief economist lives in Haiti and shrinks heads for a living. Voodoo then, voodoo now -- "something for nothing" should lead you to question the catechism you're being fed on channel 2.
5 -- and if you want to hear a deafening silence, ask Republicans what they're gonna do to create all these jobs they've promised. Then ask what government programs they're going to cut. When you get past Defense and Social Security/Medicare, you're down to the minor side of the Budget. Then maybe you'll understand that you've bought the Big Lie.
6 -- Let's not forget that CA was Not alone is resisting the blandishments of the GOP. Those rubes in New York state were also un-persuaded.
Sloganeering is easy. Opposing things is easy. Governing is hard, as you're about to learn.

You need to get your information from a better source, and I don't mean Fox News. Obama's trip to India is (among other things) to encourage them to buy American goods and thus provide jobs. The ridiculous $200M a day number that you have repeated has been resoundingly disproved Web Link .
And on top of this misinformation you're a birther too?

Chet: No sane, intelligent person would write what you have written here.
While the rest of the nation wisely chooses to restore some semblance of responsible government, California chooses to go in the opposite direction, driving the state deeper into the abyss.
What can Californian's expect from a Democratic Party regime? The Democratic Party seeks to punish those who work and reward those who do nothing. They will advance their agenda of socialism, big government, big spending, super-sized pay and benefits for public employees, ever increasing taxation, more government control of our private lives, and reckless disregard for fiscal responsibility ... policies that will crush the state's economy and impoverish its citizens.
What is the best survival technique under such an oppressive regime? ... get a public sector job, feed on taxpayers until they are sucked dry, and then escape with your booty.
If you are just an ordinary hardworking taxpayer, get out now if you can. The future looks grim for you.
