Please, No Dope smoking fools allowed. This should be a no brainer. I mean should we let them open up next to the candy store downtown. How about the vacant flower shop by SRVH. NO, let them go to Oakland or San Francisco. Town Council are you there...?

Yep, the only people who should be smoking dope in Danville are the ones who just want to get high. You do know that there are plenty of delivery services that are not bound by this decision, right?
Sorry, folks, knowing what goes on in this valley when it comes to drug and alcohol abuse makes this hardline stand seem pretty silly and hypocritical. "No! There will be no marijuana dispensaries in Danville! Hey, could you order me another shot and a beer?"

Ok, Resident of another community...If you don't live here or havd kids here. Don't worry about our community. Please feel free to invite the dope dealers to yours.

tosca, marijuana is a legitimate remedy for many medical conditions so banning all dispensaries would put an end to the relief it brings for people who use it to alleviate suffering. My brother, a recovering addict, used it during his chemotherapy treatments in order to lessen his nausea and allow him to get some nourishment - nothing else worked. It was a really difficult decision for him given his history, but he used it during treatment and went off afterward. Without it he wouldn't have survived for the time he did.
I understand the controversy in having dispensaries nearby, but I also understand the efficacy of marijuana in the scope of treatment for various diseases and conditions.

I've been in public safety in the valley for over 20 years. I have a very vested interest in what happens here. I know quite well what goes on and quite frankly, this public display by the Danville Town Council is window dressing while ignoring the significant substance abuse problem in the valley, especially among teenagers. Alcohol by far is the biggest culprit. Going after medical marijuana is like putting lipstick on a pig. I'm sorry you can't see that. The dopers are already here, and a lot of them are your children and your neighbors. Sorry for the harsh truth.

With Red Ribbon Week coming up in all of the public schools, how could we tell our kids to listen to that message but ignore the marijuana shop that opened in downtown. Do as I say and not as I do?
