Find help in answering common college essay questions
Schools & Kids, posted by Editor, Danville Weekly Online, on Sep 21, 2010 at 9:09 am

In the first part of her college question-and-answer series, Elizabeth LaScala, Ph.D responds to a concern from a Danville high school senior. Of course the candidate could answer with the line from Faust: "To learn what holds the World together in its inner workings." (What makes it tick.) But then, they probably never heard of Goethe and Maya Angelu does not write this kind of poetry....

If you don't know why you want to attend a particular college you shouldn't be applying to it and most likely, if excepted, you will not be able to compete and graduate.

What they are looking for is whether you have a brain in your head!

Duffy ~ thanks for your wisdom and insightfully sweet comments. My advice would be to switch to decaf!

People are driven to colleges for many different reasons, and alot of those reasons relate to socio-economic status...go easy there 'Sparky', afterall, this is a town square website, not a Harvard blog...
