Really, Hal? You're waiting for a press release about some girls from the continuation school who ate marijuana brownies? This is hardly urgent, groundbreaking (or atypical) news.

Dear Gina,
It is appropriate to provide community concern for the events at Del Amigo High School. Clearly, this unique school is important to our community because it allows students with alternative focus to find their direction into technical training and technology education beyond high school. Neighborhoods are focused on the exceptional alternatives of Del Amigo, Venture and Home School to answer the needs of a significant portion of high school students that are not the focus of advanced programming in our high schools.
At present, by actual student survey, SRVUSD spends >70% of the teaching budget on <30% of students that qualify for advanced study. Such imbalance illustrates the need for a scope of educational partnerships between students and teachers.
When an event happens in such alternative programs, neighborhoods want to know what and how the situation is dealt with by SRVUSD. Our future will recognize high school as real estate and education as all the factors of the teacher and student partnership.
What is newsworthy is how events occur and how they are handled to not impact the education goal. Let Emily report such realities.

Dear Gina,
As neighborhoods count your pseudonyms and sponsored pseudonyms, access to Google security allows resident counsel to differentiate who are you and who else has political connection to you.
It should not matter who is behind a pseudonym if the intention is quality presentation of issues important in our corridor. When it does matter is the use of defamation and prejudice to STOP such quality presentation of positions on issues.
In this exchange, as not a blog or thread, the issue is community interest in the quality of alternative education and any event that disrupts such educational emergence and growth. What we collectively should be asking of our corridor's neighbors is specifically how such alternative education moves forward in our corridor's communities and how potentially negative events should be handled.
Does anyone among your readers wish to address such issues?

Actually, I find myself agreeing with Hal. Unless this paper prints local news what is its purpose? I actually do it of interest that two girls were provided brownies that made them ill. Did they know they were drugged? Was the quality/amount of the drug the problem? That is local news. It also leads to the question of why it wasn't reported and what else may be missing.
