A large tree branch fell on two vehicles this morning on Interstate Highway 680 in Alamo, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig-alert for the area, a CHP officer said.

It took thirty minutes to get to the Sycamore exit heading northbound from the 580 interchange. I got home at ten fifteen and expected to be in Danville by nine forty-five this morning.

The lanes may have been cleared but were most definitely NOT moving by 9:32 a.m. Traffic was still stop and creep when I got to the Sycamore exit at ten-fifteen.

WOW...That was fast work guy's. Tree branch fell at 7:19am and by 9:08am the crews were out there removing the tree branch...I guess we're lucky the entire tree didn't fall over...or they would still be out there removing it.
It's hard to believe the removal of the tree branch didn't get started for approximately 1 1/2 hours...I think the road runner could have gotten there sooner.

There is not a tree branch that could not be moved by 10 men or women. The real issue is why a few good people could not figure out how to get out of their cars and move the thing themselves. The height of people being selfish and blaming the government for it. Everybody in that traffic jam that could have gotten out of their cars and done the work, shame on you. What arrogance to assume that somebody else had to fix the problem. How about being a good samaritan for once in your lives.

You are right John...but it goes beyond that. The arrogance is that most of those people just sat on the butt and waited...why did they wait, easy answer. They just told their boss, I was tied up in a major traffic jam...sorry I'm late. They get paid for non performance.
It would just have taken one person to start pulling the branch off the road and I'm sure others would have joined in.
