Crime drops in Danville for first half of 2010
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Editor, Danville Weekly Online, on Jun 9, 2010 at 7:45 am

Crime in Danville is down for the first half of 2010, according to Police Chief Chris Wenzel. In a recent report to the Town Council, he said there were significant decreases in a number of areas, including petty theft from cars, which dropped from 62 in the first half of 2009 to 38 for the same period this year. Grand theft from vehicles dropped from 20 to 14.

What up shootings? What about armed assaults?

WOW, Gunslinger is right...just another political warm fuzzy way to keep the masses confused. Why doesn't the police chief discuss the more serious crimes?

The reason these two area's of crime are down is because of all the police patrolling...just maybe Danville is a little overloaded with police officers. Danville reminds me of years back when the word was out...drive super careful when passing through Pinole, this was before the freeway) the cop's are manning a speed trap and the judge is holding night court and will let you buy your get out of jail card for $50 bucks, I'm sure today it would be like $500 bucks. Most of the money didn't go into the judges pocket, some went to the Policeman's Annual Ball.

Well that's enough about yesterday...back to today...Hope to hear serious crimes in Danville are on the way down.

Thank, Julia, from Alamo

I still think ut would be interesting to know the crime rate before AND after Danville got its police farce. I'd wager that there's no measurable difference.

Uhhhhh, Gunslinger, when they say that crime in Danville is down, they aren't including the shootings and armed assaults. What they really mean is that there aren't as many suspicious stops, jaywalkers, and little old ladies being cited for wearing their seatbelts incorrectly.

Job well done, DPD!

Crime down in Danville?

CCC Narcotics Enforcement Team busted 4 scum bags on Thursday, June 10th on St. Christopher Drive.

The Narcotics squad found four pounds of marijuana, hashish, a Honey Oil converter used to extract concentrated THC out of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine and 20 Ecstasy tablets.

They seized 17 firearms; including handguns, shotguns and assault weapons, brass knuckles, two bulletproof vests and $10,000 in US currency.

Arrested were Bryan Fulgate (32), Andrea Newell (22), Rob Hayes (30), and Brandon Gunn (20).

Has anyone noticed that the story mentioned above is NOT in the Danville Weekly? Why is that?

Posted by Julia, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Jun 12, 2010 at 4:23 pm

That's because Emily is making the Danville Weekly a warm and fuzzy gossip publication. No more hard issues to discuss...all mother's day and apple pie...boring

Thanks for Listening...Julia from Alamo

Quit complaining! What do u want from a team of officers who have to deal with the some of the idiots in this town. ITS DANVILLE FOLKS, NOT RICHMOND OR OAKLAND. And when really serious SH*T happens in this town, and trust me it does, they handle it quickly and quietly. Be glad you live in Pleasantville.

Neighbor, I'm a little confused by your comment. The Danville Weekly, the weekly print newspaper, is no longer in print publication. We are the Danville Express news website, with weekday email Express editions. Perhaps you're confusing us with someone else?

Emily,

So sorry about that, for years this publication was called "Danville Weekly" and it is still listed as such on several website search engines (Google, Yahoo), even your own website lists under news as "Danville Weekly", not sure if I am the one who is "confused"! Really, why don't you address the issue of why important information to the residents of this community are not included in this publication, you are going to comment on my post yet none of the others listed here? What's up with that?

Emily...it appears you have thin skin...not a good business to be in if you let your readers bother you. Stop splitting hairs and lash back.

Thanks Julia from Alamo
