What was that major police action on Danville Blvd?
Crimes & Incidents, posted by Alamoan, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Apr 17, 2010 at 5:12 pm

Not sure what transpired, but in front of Yardbirds (yes, I still call it Yardbirds) there were at least seven police and sheriff's cars. More police cars driving around the area. A couple people on the ground by police with guns drawn. Police going through the trunk of a silver Acura sedan.

No idea what it was, but by far the largest police presence I've ever seen in our little part of the world.

The cops were pissed-off because the owner of the silver Acura bought the last of the doughnuts at Winchells.

wow. you are old school mac. there has not been a winchells in danville/alamo since 1991-92. it was where the dog house sits next to san ramon high school. i remember going there before school. thats funny. about the winchells. not the police.

Man,

I do miss Winchell's. I went to Pleasant Hill H.S. and had a Winchell's doughnut before each class day (located near H.S.), no more high school, no more Winchells, and no more fast cars frm Detroit.

America peaked when gasoline was 28 cents per gallon, and a Winchell's donut could be bought for before school.

I would take a Winchell's donut and a Camaro SS over an iPod, or Droid, anyday.

Buy the last doughnut, go to jail. Not just a good idea, it's the law.

The "doughnut incident" occurred in 1991. The police never forgot it and they've put their best resources on the case. Finally, it's resolved, and hopefully the silver Acura's owner now understands that you NEVER buy the last doughnut, expecially if you're in Danville.

To our local law enforcement, A JOB WELL DONE! Keep up the good work.

The four gentleman in the Acura had just held up someone near Green Valley and Diablo Road. The car was spotted on Stone Valley Road, and the stop was made near Starbucks. Weapons were used. Everyone needs to pay attention, and do NOT assume anything.

Thanks Renee for the true scoop. Thanks everyone else for the humor and the trip down memory lane. There's still a good donut shop in town; it's over where Albertsons used to be on Diablo.

Does anyone know who was robbed, what was taken and where the assailants came from? We need to be vigilant. Renee can you answer these questions, please?

Hey you guys, Back up. You still haven't solved the mystery of the horse on top of the shoe shop.

The Donut Shop is Christy's. I has been there for over twenty years. They have GREAT donuts and cinnamon rolls. It is in the Green Valley Center, where there is also now a great Walgreen's.

The victim was at the Hospice Thrift Shoppe on Diablo Rd. 4 males came up and showed him a knife and a gun and took $40 and his cell phone. An officer got behind a car matching the description on Stone Valley and stopped them in front of the Ace hardware.

And all 4 of these assailants came from.... Danville and Alamo. One was 17, the other 3 are 18.

It's not just "out of towners" that are robbing people at knife/gun point it looks like.

I thought someone had reported lights being turned back up at the Pizza store. Where there Redwood seeds and seedlings in the Acura trunk? Maybe they were goin to plant them in front of the Veterans hall in Danville. Would have been a real crime.

I was driving by when that was going on but I was blinded by that darn bright red neon sign.......I thought I was in Union City. I missed everything because of that obnoxious red neon sign. That might be what attracted those burgulars to Alamo!

yo greg. i assume you are talking about the extreme pizza spot. i went in there and tried their pizza. i was warmly welcomed and ordered a slice. this happens to be the best pizza in the are. crisp, fresh, chezzy, i dreamt about it last night. the sign is not that big or bright. maybe its time to move down the street and over the hill to rossmor.

Web Link

heres a link to a map in case you need help finding it.

and try the pizza, get some solar shield sun glasses and stop complaining about a silly sign.
