Dear Emily,

Friday's in the past decade were special in our region because we had perspective provided by Dolores in the initial print editions of The Danville Weekly. E-exchanges within and among neighborhoods would buzz with commentary about the perspective Dolores brought to us for consideration.

Soon that perspective arrived first thing in the morning on-line and it was like a great cup of coffee and conversation with a friend each Friday. It was never about one faction or any particular version of local culture. It was more about our diversity and community. Well-chosen and very well-written words brought dialog among diversity of points of view in neighborhoods.

As neighbors review your Linkedin profile, we see your ability to continue the heritage of diverse perspective. Your Yahoo experience should provide a greater sense of the Bay area, and its world, that is more typical of our region's majority.

Take a moment to read Dolores' perspectives in the print editions prior to 2008 so you might feel the invitation that brought neighborhoods and The Danville Weekly together in communication and consideration. Then refresh that approach and delivery your own perspective for Friday morning readers.

Best wishes!
