 | After a three-month hiatus, Morning with the Mayor will return on April 12 with a modified format. The program will be held from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building.
The morning breakfast meeting served as an informal opportunity for the public to hear updates on community activities, listen to a guest speaker discuss a designated topic and ask general questions to Mayor Newell Arnerich or town staff. New Mayor's Mornings will be held quarterly, with March's meeting featuring highlights from the State of the Town address.
Future topics include a budget and capital improvement project (CIP) overview on June 28, completed CIP highlights and ongoing programs on Sept. 27 and a look ahead on Jan. 24, 2014.
Morning with the Mayor will also be an opportunity for community organizations and service clubs to send representatives to learn more about the town's efforts and share information on their activities. Residents will continue to have the opportunity to meet with and hear from the mayor to discuss issues in the Town of Danville.
"The change in the format is asking more members from various community organizations and service clubs to attend, provide updates of their own and receive feedback," Nat Rojanasathira, assistant to the town manager, said. "We're looking forward to having more members of the broader community, members of the service organizations such as Rotary and Kiwanis."
For those unable to attend, Morning with the Mayor will be videotaped and available for viewing on the town's website and social media. For more, contact Rojanasathira at 314-3328 or nrojanasathira@danville.ca.gov. nrojanasathira@danville.ca.gov.
The meeting was originally slated for Friday, March 29 and was moved due to a scheduling conflict. Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Based on the info above, they're looking for service organizations to get more involved with the local community? If they're waiting on the Rotary club to provide updates, then I think they're going the wrong route. The above sounds like something that the government representatives should be addressing. Where's the accountability? I guess after the General Plan 2030 fiasco, the Mayor is less inclined to be at the forefront of any meeting. What cowardly "leadership!"
