Philanthropist discusses global literacy tomorrow

| Rakestraw Books will present philanthropist and author John Wood at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 at The Athenian School (2100 Mt. Diablo Scenic Blvd., Danville). He will discuss his new book, "Creating Room to Read: A Story of Hope in the Battle for Global Literacy." Wood has been described as "the Andrew Carnegie of the developing world," after he quit a lucrative career to found the non-profit Room to Read in 1999. Event is free, and reservations are required.
