Join the Christmas bird count

Over the next three weeks, about 2,000 binocular-toting volunteers described by the National Audubon Society as "citizen scientists" will fan out throughout the Bay Area for the annual Christmas Bird Count. The nationwide surveys began in 1900 as a way of recording trends in bird populations.
