Multi-million pavement management project begins today

Several streets around Danville will get a facelift beginning Oct. 29 as the town begins a $2.75 million project to repair streets in several neighborhoods.

The work is part of an ongoing effort to keep all 301 lane miles of public streets in a serviceable condition. The project will focus on repairing potholes and replacing worn-out pavement, including some repairs to adjoining sidewalks, curbs and drainage systems.

The town devotes an average of $1.2 million annually to road repairs; road conditions are evaluated on a regular basis using an approach common throughout the state. Street repair locations are selected based on the individual pavement condition, as well as the overall condition of the surrounding neighborhood.

Specific streets to be repaired are shown on the town's pavement management page. On the clickable PDF on the page, streets where pot-holes will be patched are shown with cross-hatching ("XXX"). Streets where the worn pavement will be completely removed and repaved are shown with black fill.

For more information, contact Senior Civil Engineer Michael Stella at 314-3316 or mstella@danville.ca.gov.
