San Ramon's Central Park was home to art, music, food and wine this weekend, as artists from all over the Valley gathered for the 14th annual Art in the Park festival.

This year's event, held on Oct. 6 and 7. featured 70 booths, as well as professional chalk artists. Booths boasted painters in all media, clay, fine jewelry, art photography, textiles and sculpture with over 20 new participants. Several artists conducted demonstrations.

Additionally, a juried art show judged by artist and teacher Gerald Boyd was held in the fountain room of the community center. This show also includes artists from around the area.

A variety of children's art-related activities was held near the tennis courts and materials are free of charge. The San Ramon Library will have a table in the kids area, which features a bubble station, and a train supplied by Museum of the San Ramon Valley will take children for rides around the sports fields.

Students from Monte Vista High's Jazz Group as well as bands from Cal High and San Ramon Valley High wowed audiences over the course of the weekend, alongside The Gary Chulla Trio and Diablo Dixie Devils.

Sponsored by the Alamo Danville Artists' Society, the San Ramon Arts Foundation and the city of San Ramon, Art in the Park is a fundraiser for art programs in the city and school district. More than $125,000 has been raised over the years by ADAS for grants, which go directly elementary and middle school art programs in the San Ramon Valley School.
