The San Ramon Library will host Powers of Attorney and Advance Health Care Directives, a free legal workshop sponsored by the Contra Costa County Bar Association. This two-part estate planning workshop, beginning Thursday, Sept. 27 from 6 - 7 p.m., focuses on what every elder needs to protect themselves and their loved ones in case of incapacity.
Participants will have the opportunity to have their questions answered and, if appropriate, to set appointments to have simple incapacity documents prepared for them by the Elder Law Center, a community service of The Law Center. If more advanced work is necessary, the Contra Costa County Bar Association will refer the participants to a qualified local attorney.
A follow-up session will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 6:00-8:00 PM. In order for documents to be prepared, attendance is required at both sessions.
This program is free and open to the public. To register, call Theresa Hurley, Contra Costa County Bar Association, at 370-2548. The program will be held in the second floor community room of the San Ramon library (100 Montgomery St.).
