Officers from several local law enforcement agencies arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery in San Ramon on Aug. 29.
Adam Stephens, 31, entered Union Bank at 3223 Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon at approximately 1:51 p.m. then handed a teller a note stating that he was robbing the bank. The San Francisco resident verbally told the teller that he would shoot if the teller alerted the police, displayed a black pistol, tucked into his waistband and ordered the teller to empty the cash drawer into a bag.
Stephens fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses told San Ramon Police that the suspect entered a black Toyota Forerunner and described the vehicle's direction of travel. The Danville Police Department and the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office stopped the vehicle as it fled north on Interstate 680.
Stephens was arrested for robbery, threats to kill or cause great bodily injury and burglary. He was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility on $95,000 bail.
