Bookmark and Share
The Danville Police Department is looking for suspects involved in the theft of several street name signs over the past few weeks.

The thefts were reported by town of Danville maintenance staff who noted missing signs at eight locations throughout town.

Police Chief Steve Simpkins asked residents watch for any suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. If a suspicious person is spotted, residents should not confront the individual but instead should contact the police.

For more information, contact Simpkins at 314-3700 or ssimpkins@danville.ca.gov.

A really interesting thing to add to an article like this would be the names of the 8 streets.

Street signs aren't the only things that are stolen.

During the last several town-wide Welcome Home and Memorial services for Chachi Corral, a number of the beautiful '9-11' flags that were painstakingly erected by members of the Diablo Valley Flag Brigade were stolen off their poles.

This non-profit organization pays about $20 for EACH of these flags which, once flown, are lovingly folded and presented to returning members of our military at Welcome Home celebrations all over the Bay Area.

It's disgusting that they would be stolen.
