Man arrested for alleged lewd conduct in park restrooms

Bookmark and Share
A Crockett man is in custody after being arrested on suspicion of lewd conduct at a Walnut Creek park after ongoing complaints tipped police off to the activity.

Officers arrested 35-year-old Ryan Meulpolder at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday after finding him loitering around a public restroom at Heather Farm Park, which is bounded by North San Carlos, Heather and Marchbanks drives, police said.

Police had received multiple complaints during the past several weeks about lewd activity occurring in and around the park's public restrooms. Citizens have also reported receiving unwanted solicitations for sex while using the restrooms, police said.

The restrooms are at the southern end of the park across the street from a playground and alongside baseball and soccer fields, according to police.

Officers conducted an enforcement operation at the park Tuesday and located Meulpolder, who was arrested for allegedly loitering around a public restroom for the purpose of engaging in lewd conduct.

Police said they would continue to monitor the park for criminal activity.
