Dogs lock man out of air-conditioned car - on a hot day
|
| Police responding to a report of animal cruelty Sunday instead found an owner outfoxed by his pets.
Danville police reports indicate that at 4:02 p.m. Aug. 17 an anonymous tipster reported that two dogs had been left alone in a vehicle parked at 290 Hartz Ave. The caller was concerned that the animals would be injured if left alone inside the hot car for any length of time.
When he arrived at the scene, the officer found the vehicle running with the air conditioning on and both dogs in good condition. He also found the owner waiting outside the car in the hot sun.
The owner explained the dogs had tripped the car's locks while he was out of the auto, locking him out, and he was waiting for a tow truck to come and let him back in.

Posted by Danny, a resident of the Walnut Creek neighborhood, on Aug 27, 2008 at 5:12 pm You know if people were a little less lazy and put the dogs on a leash and took them where they needed to go, this would have never happened.
Too many people sit in there car when it's running. Who knows, the dogs could have drove off with the damn car.
