Gov! Things don't add up

Danville's Chris Hopkins takes off on his unicycle from Montair Elementary School, beginning his 100-mile ride to the state Capitol in Sacramento with a sendoff by students, faculty members and supporters.

He will deliver a special calculator to Gov. Schwarzenegger to send a message that the school budget cuts don't add up. The back of the calculator says, "This one works Arnold," signed by Montair Principal Matt Hermann.

Hopkins, a member of the Legislative Advocacy Committee of San Ramon Valley Council of PTAs, will arrive in Sacramento on Thursday, April 24, and join PTA members from across the state at the California State PTAs' "Flunk-the-Budget" rally at the Capitol.

Wonderful Story, Meghan,

When I first read the story I thought Chris was riding a unicorn.

The Gubernator, with his Tinsel Town viewpoint, would love a unicorn but likely it would distract Arnold from the message.

Great cause and a well-justified question but I wonder if the Capital press will try to interview the unicycle and not the rider?

Smile,

OX

Thanks for your support! Chris has been pedalling hard and is resting tonight in Davis. He's looking forward to the final stretch to the Capitol tomorrow morning. To track his progress, please go to www.ChrisandLisaHopkins.com and click on "100 Miles - Unicycle Ride".
