 | Although the weather may be too warm to add one to your bed, the Museum of the San Ramon Valley is removing quilts from their closet summer homes in a new exhibit.
Quirkology of Quilts will be on display from Thursday, Aug. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 25 and features several special events on Saturdays.
On Aug. 27, Sept. 3 and Sept. 17, visitors can watch members of Diablo Valley Quilters make the colorful and comfy creations. Alethea Ballard will discuss whimsical quilts at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, followed by a discussion on wearable art on Sept. 24.
The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. For more information on the exhibit, visit the museum website or call 837-3750Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

Posted by Kevin, a resident of the Danville neighborhood, on Aug 29, 2011 at 8:56 am I look forward to seeing this exhibit.
Was there a call to artists sent out?
I ask because the preeminent quilt artist in the greater bay area, Karla Schreffler (Studio in Danville), is not part of this exhibit.
How is that possible?
