| Tips from residents in a Danville neighborhood led police to a home near Diablo Vista Park, where they took a 66 year-old man into custody in connection with a sexual battery reported Thursday evening.
Danville Police Lieutenant Jeff Moule said Danville PD officers, reserve ffficers and volunteers canvassed neighborhoods near the park, where on July 14 a female juvenile reported being approached and inappropriately touched on the chest by an unknown male.
Moule said the canvass turned up several residents who recognized the description of the man, which led them to a home where they found a man identified as Natesan Arumugam. Arumugam, an Indian national visiting relatives in Danville, was taken into custody and charged with sexual battery, lewd and lascivious acts with a child and annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18.
Moule said he was very pleased with the level of citizen cooperation Danville PD received in the operation.
"We got a lot of help from neighborhood residents," Moule said. "The tips we received helped us achieve a speedy resolution to this investigation."
Arumugam will be transported to the Martinez Detention Facility Friday evening where his bond has been set at $125,000.Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition? See a sample and sign-up for Express.

That's what is going on, folks! The neighbors have mom visiting from India but got her onto the system already!

I don't know what the maximum allowed stay in the US is, for a tourist/vacation type visit (90 days, perhaps?), but I also don't think that much attention is paid to adhering to the law.
