What a blast! The Alamo Wine & Music Festival drew crowds in the beautiful weather Saturday to enjoy the lively music, good eats and fun for the kiddies.

The event began at 2 p.m. in the Alamo Plaza Parking lot. By 6:30 p.m., the 400 commemorative festival wine glasses were sold out, and organizers estimated they could have sold another 150. But the wine kept flowing, and the kids kept playing the games sponsored by each school in Alamo.

The Alamo Incorportation Movement folks were out in force, too, collecting signatures to petition LAFCO to consider the feasibility of the community incorporating.

It was the 25th annual Alamo Wine and Music Festival presented by Alamo Rotary, with fun for kids including a rock climbing wall, carnival games and refreshment booths.

Dinner was a choice of fine food from Faz and Forli's, or a barbecued hotdog. The wine and beer, music and dancing, and drawings lasted until 11 p.m.

Proceeds support Alamo schools' music and literacy programs.

Dear Editor,

Alamo neighborhoods applaud the Rotary for providing another well-planned Alamo Music Festival.

Your article contains information that lacks accuracy: "The Alamo Incorportation Movement folks were out in force, too, collecting signatures to petition LAFCO to consider the feasibility of the community incorporating."

The reality is AIM is petitioning CCC LAFCO to create a city government under the autonomous control of a town council that will plan Alamo's future without responsibility to citizens' oversight or specification for city structure and operations.
