 | An 82-year-old allegedly drunken man driving his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe in the Trader Joe's parking lot in Danville caused collisions with three cars, said Police Sgt. Phillip Wisotsky.
Norman Robertson of Danville tried parking his car while driving with a blood alcohol level of .09, at the parking lot on Railroad Avenue around 1:46 p.m., Tuesday, July 24. Instead of hitting the brake, he hit the gas and drove forward, hitting one car, which then crashed into another, Wisotsky said.
He also hit another car, propelling it to a hit the brick base of a pole. A total of four cars were impacted at the incident, police said.
Robertson was arrested on charges of driving under the influence. He was taken to the police station and released to his wife, Wisotsky said.
