Orinda man arrested for indecent exposure in Danville

Bookmark and Share
Police arrested a 40-year-old man at his Orinda home Thursday after a string of incidents dating back to August in which he allegedly exposed himself to people in three East Bay cities, including Danville, a police detective said.

Todd Hager was arrested at his Orinda home Thursday after an incident Wednesday in which he reportedly had his pants pulled down while in his vehicle and rolled down his window when a woman and some children walked by near an elementary school, according to Orinda police Detective Nate McCormack.

Hager matched the description of a suspect who had allegedly committed similar acts several times in Orinda, Moraga and Danville as far back as August, McCormack said.

The Danville incidents happened Sept. 16 and Oct. 30 near Los Cerros Middle School when a man jogging on the trail pulled up his shorts to expose himself to students as he ran past.

There had been at least three incidents in Orinda, as well as others in Moraga and Danville. Most of the incidents also took place near schools, McCormack said.

Hager was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and was booked into county jail with bail set at $10,000, according to McCormack.

Awesome news! So glad the police have stayed with this and have (hopefully) found the guy.

Bail was set at $10K! Wow, guess the judge didn't think this was very serious.

I believe that this guy, who has been flashing children, has a 6 year old child. If so, that's frightening. Hopefully Children's Services has made a visit. A warrant for his harddrive wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I guess this story implies he might be the one from the Iron Horse trail?

Yeah, $10K is bullpucky. That's only $1,000 that he has to put out, isn't it?

I think the guy's wife is a child photographer. Poor wife. The guy told reporters he did this because he was under a lot of stress. Guess we're suposed to feel sorry for him. I know when Iam stressed, it really helps to go around exposing myself to children.

Without minimizing the nastiness of this situation or its effects on its various victims, I am reminded of Sir David Niven's comment about a streaker at the Oscars: he just didn't understand people who were so willing to advertise their shortcomings...
