Offering locks of love
|
Photo
 | Green Valley Elementary students (l-r) Leah Emerson, Alexis Baillie and Kelly Strand each donated 10 inches of their hair to the Locks of Love program, going to Christine's in Danville to have their hair cut June 13.
The girls are all 10 years old, and completed their last day of the fourth grade the following day.
Through the Locks of Love program, the hair will be donated to make wigs for children who suffer from alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune skin disease resulting in the loss of hair, or who have experienced hair loss from radiation therapy and chemotherapy, severe burns or trauma, and various other genetic and dermatological conditions. — Dolores Fox Ciardelli Are you receiving Express, our free daily e-mail edition?
