Albertsons auction clears vacant store
|
Photo
 | The last remaining remnants of the Albertsons on Diablo Road in Danville will soon be gone. Forty people, including auctioneers, store owners and dealers, leasing space to clear the store of shelves, fixtures and equipment, previously used by the grocery store to display food and beverages.
The equipment went for about $100 and the auction lasted about three hours. Dealers in attendance, who came in from out of town, said they planned to resell the shelves online.

Posted by Alamo community of neighborhoods, a resident of the Alamo neighborhood, on Jun 14, 2007 at 5:11 pm Great story, Natalie,
How about following up with Kathy Chiverton, Executive Director, SRV YMCA,kchiverton@mdrymca.org, on how soon they could turn that site into a convenient and acceptable YMCA commercial facility. Great freeway and traffic access is obviously the important reason to move from the constricted site in Alamo deep in Alamo's Hemme neighborhood.
This is too good to miss and SRV YMCA needs to jump on the opportunity for a location just walking distance from their theatre, CPC, schools and many Danville neighborhoods.
Think about the audience it would create for the shops that surround the facility.
