McNerney seeks millions to keep things moving
Congressman requests transportation funds for I-680 corridor

Bookmark and Share
U.S. Rep. Jerry McNerney (D., 11th) released a list of transportation project funding requests Wednesday that he is submitting for the 11th Congressional District. They will be considered for funding as part of transportation reauthorization legislation that is expected to be considered by Congress this year.

"These projects are essential for maintaining our transportation infrastructure and for creating much-needed jobs in the area," said McNerney. "I'm keeping my commitment to accountability by making these requests accessible to the public."

The projects and amount requested are as follows:

* East Contra Costa Trail Network ($5 million), to plan, design and construct portions of the East Contra Costa County Trail Network.
* El Cerro Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation ( $1.2 million) to rehabilitate roadway pavement along the commute corridor, which serves 11,000 vehicles per day, as well as school buses, bicyclists and pedestrians.
* I-680 Transit Corridor Improvements ($28 million), to improve access for express bus service, carpools and vanpools, and improve safety and minimize congestion of vehicles entering or exiting the freeway between Sycamore Valley Road and Crow Canyon Road.
* San Ramon Valley Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation ($2.2 million), for urban minor arterial improvements to improve the roadway's service conditions, upgrade wheelchair ramps to current standards, and enhance vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian safety.

Submitting requests does not guarantee any funding.

This clown voted for the bail-out bill without reading. As of this date he still is not supporting HR 1207 to audit the Federal Reserve. We need to send a fiscally responsible candidate to replace him in 2010.
