A gas line break prompted the closure of a roadway and some businesses for more than an hour Friday evening in Danville, a police sergeant said.
The break was reported around 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Camino Ramon, Sgt. Jason Ingrassia said.
Traffic on Camino Ramon between Franciscan Drive and Fostoria Way was closed as PG&E crews worked on repairing the line, Ingrassia said.
As a precaution, nearby businesses were temporarily closed, he said.
PG&E received the report of the broken gas line around 6:10 p.m., utility spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
The gas line, a "riser" above the ground, was shut off shortly after crews arrived at the scene at about 6:35 p.m., Morris said.
The line was repaired around 7:10 p.m. and all businesses and traffic were reopened.
