In anticipation of the movie "Despicable Me 2," which opens Wednesday, Universal Studios' Despicablimp soared slowly over the San Ramon Valley late Sunday morning on its Bay Area tour, after spending Saturday night at the Livermore Airport.
After releasing the first plot-revealing full-length trailer for the film last week, Universal launched the blimp on a nationwide tour.
The film's ubiquitous yellow minions, the "Despicablimp," was moored over the weekend in Livermore in between appearances at other California locations.
The colorful blimp is also scheduled to be part of Telemundo's Billboard Latin Music Awards in Florida next month and possibly the "Today Show" come the end of May.
The movie stars Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig.
