A 16-year-old male Monte Vista student crashed his 1998 Acura into a tree on Blackhawk Road at 7:50 a.m. this morning about two miles north of the Camino Tassajara junction in Blackhawk.
The Danville teen lost control of the car, swerved to the right, came back to the left and hit the tree, reported Officer Steve Creel of the California Highway patrol. The teen was taken to the hospital with broken ribs and lacerated internal organs, Creel said.
Firefighters from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District extricated the student, and paramedics treated him en route to John Muir Medical Center, with lights flashing and sirens on.
"He was conscious and talking to the paramedics," said Battalion Chief Jack Barton.
There was one witness to the accident, said Creel, and CHP is waiting to hear from any other witnesses.
No charges have been filed at this time, said Creel; the accident is still under investigation.
The teen was the sole occupant of the car. No information was available on the teen's condition.
